Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Your Tutor At Home Inc. (“Your Tutor At Home,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

If you have questions about anything here, email us at cs@yourtutorathome.com.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to yourtutorathome.com and to any purchase, download, account, quiz, or email subscription you obtain through it.

Our materials are designed for children roughly ages 5 to 11, but our site and our accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See Section 8.

2. Information you give us

When you buy something, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and the details of your order. Your payment card is handled by our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.

When you subscribe to our emails or download a free resource, we collect your email address and, in some cases, your first name.

When you take one of our quizzes, we collect the answers you give and the email address you provide if you choose to receive your results. Quiz answers describe learning challenges — for example, that a child struggles with reading or focus. We treat this as information about you, the parent or tutor completing the quiz.

When you contact us or fill in a form, we collect whatever you choose to include in your message.

When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, password (stored encrypted), and any profile details you add.

Please don’t send us a child’s full name, school records, medical information, or diagnosis. We don’t need it, and we’d rather you keep it.

3. Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, some information is collected by us or by the services we use:

  • IP address and approximate location (city or region level)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and what you clicked
  • The site or search that referred you to us
  • Cookies and similar technologies (Section 7)

We use Google Analytics 4 for this. It helps us understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck. Google processes this data on our behalf and may set its own cookies. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.

We also use MailerLite for email, which loads a script on our pages to show sign-up forms and to link email activity to subscribers.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • process your orders and deliver your downloads or course access
  • send order confirmations, receipts, and account notifications
  • send marketing emails, if you’ve subscribed
  • give you your quiz results and follow up with relevant resources
  • respond when you contact us
  • run and improve the website and our products
  • detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security problems
  • meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.

5. Legal bases for processing

If you’re in the UK, EU, or another region with similar laws, we rely on these bases:

  • Contract — to process and deliver your order and provide account access.
  • Consent — to send you marketing emails and to set non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the site, understand how it’s used, prevent fraud, and improve what we offer, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records we’re required to keep.

6. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

Provider Purpose
Payment processors Taking payment securely
MailerLite Email delivery and subscriber management
Google Analytics Website analytics
GoDaddy Website hosting
Sucuri Website security and firewall

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business — in which case we’ll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies — keep you logged in, remember what’s in your cart, and let checkout work. The site can’t function without these.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure how the site is used.
  • Marketing cookies — set by MailerLite to remember whether you’ve seen or dismissed a sign-up form.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break the cart and checkout.

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where our systems can detect them.

8. Children’s privacy

Our site and our accounts are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we don’t direct our marketing to children.

Our products are bought by parents, guardians, and tutors for use with children. When you buy from us, we collect your information — not your child’s. Our quizzes ask about a child’s learning, but the account, the email address, and the responses belong to you.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, email cs@yourtutorathome.com and we’ll delete it promptly.

9. How long we keep information

  • Order records — as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, typically seven years.
  • Account information — while your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Email subscribers — until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour your opt-out.
  • Quiz responses — up to two years, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Analytics data — according to Google Analytics retention settings, currently 14 months.

10. Your rights

Everyone. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us.

If you’re in the UK or EU (GDPR). You also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you’re in California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing — though as noted, we don’t sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Other US states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws have broadly similar rights, and we’ll honour them on the same terms.

To exercise any of these, email cs@yourtutorathome.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we’ll respond within the time your law requires — generally 30 to 45 days.

11. International transfers

We’re based in the United States and our website is hosted there. If you’re outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from your own.

Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards with our providers. MailerLite operates from the European Union and applies its own transfer safeguards.

12. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, a web application firewall, access controls, and encrypted password storage. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we’ll notify you and any relevant regulator if a breach affects you.

13. Links to other sites

Our site links to outside resources and services. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy doesn’t cover them. Please read their policies before giving them your information.

14. Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we’ll tell you more directly — by email or a notice on the site.

If you’re in the UK or EU and aren’t satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
